Forget the proprietary connectors or even USB.  Manufacture OBDII with wireless Bluetooth.

Create apps for smartphone, tablet, laptop.  Create online service to store info, alert, report, recommend scheduled maintenance.

Looks like carvoyant hooked this into fault monitoring that sends the info to local mechanics.  They raised $1.5m.
Carvoyant’s focus is not on building a better transmitter and app, it’s about building a service that connects consumers and repair shops together at the very moment when car maintenance or repairs need to take place.

Tire stores could subsidize part of the price.  Connector with bluetooth to phone, to notify driver + tire store to schedule a rotation based on mileage.
