Record House Improvements

Depending on marital status, several $100K of primary residence house sale gains are not taxable. The cost of improvements is also excluded.

After several years, it can be difficult to locate all of the receipts to show the cost of upgrades. A simple web site to record date, description, cost, and optionally a photo could be useful for documenting upgrades.

2013 May:
BrightNest has an app for "tips, an easy scheduling system for home-related tasks, and a convenient place to store home details and history."

Really needs a househistoryDotCom site to record everything and set reminders to change furnace air filter.  Would be tough to monetize, other than to sell ads to home maintenance companies.
