Linux Systems Administrator - Denver Metro/Telecommute

DESCRIPTION: DonorWare's System Administrator's primary
responsibilities are:
- maintain our infrastructure of 60+ servers running various flavors
of Red Hat Linux
- plan and implement changes and upgrades to OSs, hardware, and
services
- support users of our systems, both internal and external
- maintain and enforce strict security practices
- document processes and procedures
- work with various hardware and software vendors
- participate in after hours Maintenance Windows with other staff and
vendors as needed
This role will provide project and technical review and direction to
other group staff members and collaborate on corporate initiatives.
The individual will be able to interface well with technical,
non-technical, and management staff including those of our clients.
Good written and oral communication skills are a must.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience administering Linux servers, and clusters;
tinyDNS Domain Name Servers; NFS servers; qmail e-mail servers;
iptables firewalls; Apache webservers; WebDAV servers; MySQL database
servers and clusters; NetApp storage; and light Perl and shell
scripting
- Demonstrated experience with with managing projects like OS upgrade
rollouts, e-mail server migration, and software upgrades
- Experience and in-depth knowledge and skill in network
administration and topolgy
- Experience securing Linux systems with knowledge of system forensics
tools and methodologies and PCI/CISP security standards
- Experience setting up hardware, installing and configuring Linux and
other software
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting systems issues
- Must be able to work on call during non-standard hours
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision
ABOUT DONORWARE:
DonorWare LLC is a Wilmington DE registered company that exists as a
100% virtual company. All our work flow and ASP style service work
for the dozens of mainly Christian non profits who are our clients
happen from the staff's home offices all across the country.
DonorWare's goal is to provide not only the best fundraising software
available, but also provide it in a way that strengthens the community
as a whole.
DonorWare uses Open Source tools wherever possible. Our infrastructure
consists of Red Hat Linux-based servers running our (mostly) C
binaries against primarily Apache, Perl, and MySQL services.
SALARY:
Will be based on experience, and is paid monthly based on time
tracked. All staff are required to track at least 75% of their time on
projects assigned to them to recieve 100% on their paychecks.
BENEFITS:
DonorWare strives to provide excellent health and dental coverage to
it's staff. Aetna health plans, and GE dental plans are provided at
no cost to the staff person, in spite of 30%-40% increases in recent
years. Also, the standard US holidays are off paid and Flexible Time
off accrues at 14 hours per month.
